I haven't really done a review on a product in a while. Mostly because I am a broke college student who can't afford to go around buying things for a blog...as much as I would like to anyway. But this is a product that I had to try because I have so much faith in lush as a company. As part of my daily routine I usually bathe in the evenings, right before going to bed and if I need to shower I do so in the morning as it helps me to wake up. But lately, all this work has been piling up and I haven't been able to properly dry my hair before class. So I run around with wet hair in the cold that sometimes freezes depending on the whether. My solution. Don't wash it in the morning...but that wasn't working. So I decided not to wash it....my hair is too oily. So I started trying dry shampoos. Some dry shampoos make my hair feel like I literally have hairspray in my hair. With others you can actually see a little film of white. And with my newly dyed hair it is very noticeable. So I decided to go with Lush No Drought dry shampoo. Here are my thoughts.
Application: 8/10
This isn't a spray, you literally click the little button at the top and it makes a little opening at the top of the bottom. From then you can poor out as much product as you want. A little really goes a long way with this product. Trust me you don't want too much. It reminds me of the baby powder method, but it doesn't smell anything like it. I prefer this to a spray because then I can see exactly where and how much I will be applying to my hair. If I poor too much out I can poor it back into the bottle. Next I put it where I need it and shake the rest out of my hair. Stuff from a can is probably easier to use, but I'm not about all those chemicals.
Packaging: 9/10
Simple is the best thing for this product. You can see how much you have left in the bottle and it seals in the scent well. You can recycle the bottle afterwards as well. Simple and sweet.
Scent: 10/10
Dry shampoos seem to get a bad wrap for its sometimes bad smell. And while their job is to get rid of excess oils, sometimes we want to freshen up our hair and make it smell nice. It is nice combination of mainly grapefruit and lime, it really makes my mouth water a bit. It can become a problem.
Price: 10/10
Most dry shampoos in their full size are around $8-$10. No Drought costs $13.95. Usually that would be a problem, but a dry shampoo bottle lasts my roommate at most 3 months. I purchased this bottle in late August, it is now November and it is not even 1/4 of the way done. I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted until next August.
Availability: 9/10
Sadly, this product is only available through Lush Stores. But this product is also vegan so many more people can use it. Which is why it gets such a high ratings.
What is your favorite dry shampoo? Any thoughts on Lush? Let me know!
xoxo
