Crumbs Comes To A Close :(

I am a big fan of community, tradition and growth. So if a store opens in the Upper West Side of Manhattan I will be there. If I like it I will go back as often as I can and spread the word.

It's nice to see things grow. Thus, when Crumbs opened up near me I was super excited! Super sized cupcakes was huge layers of icing, totally worth the money. Especially since their cupcakes were decorated in the most adorable way!

 Still Crumbs was more of treat. The occasional thing. I guess many people felt the same because Crumbs hasn't been doing so well. In fact it closed down all of its stores a few days ago. Apparently only giving its employes 10 hours notice before they were out of a job.

That seems really unfair to me. Crumbs must have seen its downfall coming for awhile now. It closed some underperforming stores in  2013 and even some this year. I guess the cupcake business is more competitive than it seems. I just wish that Crumbs would have had more consideration for its workers. I can only hope they all find new jobs soon.

But for now, since I won't be able to run to Crumbs for the occasional cupcake I'll have to settle for making them myself. At least I can make them somewhat healthy that way.
